Manners and Life Skills Classes
Our Manners and Life Skills classes will help you and your dog develop the skills for living together in the family and in society. They are for all dogs over the age of 6 months. Exceptions may be made depending on the size and experience of the dog. The classes consist of six core areas:
Come
Look and Leave
On a Loose lead
Say Please (AKA Sit)
Education
Relaxation and Handling
We will also teach you the Cycle of Command developed by Dr Cam Day, a leading Vet Behaviourist in Brisbane to help you stop unwanted behaviour.
Our education component will teach you strategies to managing barking, destruction, meeting and greeting, managing children and dogs, dog body language, managing dogs' anxiety levels, environmental enrichment and food guarding. We tailor this component to meet the needs of the group.
Manners and Life Skills Classes
This class consists of 7 lessons of 1 hour duration. The first lesson in the course is a no obligation introductory lesson without dogs present which the client is required to attend prior to bringing their dog to the class. The main part of the class is 6 lessons for the client and their dog, each of about one hour duration, at weekly intervals. Also included is a home visit to help with any issues, at a mutually convenient time.
The cost of the package is $150. There are no make-up classes if client misses a class. Drop in rate is $30 per class subject to approval.
From time to time we do not have enough dogs to run a Manners and Life Skills and Puppy Class separately and we combine them into one class. When this happens the joint class goes for 7 weeks at a cost of $150. All components of both classes are incorporated for all dogs.
